// YOUR DATA

Privacy policy

Your progress, your privacy. Here is what stays in your browser, what reaches us and how to get in touch.

Last updated: 24 October 2026

Who is responsible?

VECTARCADE is a product of Wizard Software Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 16914068). Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. Wizard Software Ltd is the data controller. For privacy questions or requests, email mark@wizardsoftware.co.uk.

What we use and why

  • Local player profile: a randomly generated player ID, nickname if you choose one, scores, achievements, favourites, recent games, daily progress and settings are saved in this browser to provide your arcade experience. You can export or import a save file on your device; it is not uploaded as a cloud backup. The export includes your leaderboard identity only if you choose that option.
  • Online scores: supported games send your player ID, nickname, game, mode and score to our leaderboard service. Your nickname and best score can appear publicly; the public board does not show your player ID. Use a nickname that does not identify you; do not include contact details.
  • VECTA DAILY: a daily attempt sends your player ID, nickname, challenge number, score, duration, input counts and an anti-abuse nonce. The public daily board shows the nickname and result, not your player ID.
  • Friends-only multiplayer: room codes, player IDs, nicknames, game state and moves let invited players share a game.
  • Anonymous play counts: to improve the games, we count how they are played. When a run ends, the game page sends one small message: which game, whether the run finished, how long it lasted (we keep only a broad band, such as 1 to 3 minutes), whether it was a quick restart and whether you are on a phone or a desktop. We add it to daily totals for each game and keep only those totals. It uses no cookies, no player, session or device ID, and saves nothing in your browser. We do not store your IP address or browser details with it, and it is not shared with anyone or used to follow you across sites. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, nothing is sent.
  • Past gameplay events: earlier site versions sent pseudonymous player and session IDs, game activity, scores, timings and bounded invite or share details. That collection remains paused; current and older cached clients cannot add new event records. Existing records remain while we review retention and respond to data requests.
  • Technical information: our hosting provider handles IP addresses and request information to deliver and protect the site. Our API uses IP addresses for short-lived abuse limits.
  • Enquiries: emails and business enquiries may include your name, work email, company, preferences and message, so we can respond.

We use necessary game and service data to provide the features you request (contract); security and enquiry handling also support our legitimate interests in running and protecting the service, and anonymous play counts serve our legitimate interest in improving the games. We may retain information where needed to meet a legal obligation.

Services that help the arcade run

Cloudflare hosts the website and processes server-side game, leaderboard and enquiry data for us. Pages that use Google Fonts request font files from Google, which receives connection information including your IP address. Your email provider and ours process messages you send us.

These providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, transfers need recognised safeguards, such as adequacy arrangements or approved contractual terms. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data.

Public leaderboards are visible to other visitors; invite links are visible to anyone you share them with. We do not sell personal data. This website does not run advertising tags.

How long information stays

Local progress and preferences generally stay until you clear this site's browser data. Session storage ends with the browser session; cached files can be replaced or removed by the browser or a site update. Save files you download remain wherever you keep them.

Leaderboard scores are kept so the boards continue to work. Daily play totals are kept to compare games over time; they contain no personal data. Gameplay event and business-enquiry records do not currently have automatic expiry. We assess server records against their continuing purpose and privacy requests; contact us to ask for removal. Daily challenge rows older than 90 challenge numbers are cleared during later daily requests, so this is not an exact 90-day deletion time. Multiplayer rooms expire after two hours without an update and expired records are cleared during later room creation.

Ask us about a particular record if you need more detail.

Your choices and rights

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your personal data, and object to processing where applicable. The per-player event collection of earlier versions is paused; you can ask us about records it saved. Anonymous play counts cannot be linked to you, so they hold nothing about you to access or delete.

Email mark@wizardsoftware.co.uk with “VECTARCADE privacy” in the subject. For a score or event request, include the game, nickname and approximate date. We may need further information to locate your record and verify the request. We normally respond within one month; we will explain any lawful extension.

Clearing browser data does not remove records already held on the server and may make them harder to match to you. Contact us first if you want both removed. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Younger players

No account or real name is needed to play. Younger players should ask a parent or carer before sending personal information, using online features or contacting us. Please tell us if a child has shared personal information that should be removed.
