Health drains every second — food is the clock. Smash the generators or the horde never stops.

Goal: Your health drains every second: green rations pause the drain and potions heal. Your hero shoots and your weapon swings by itself; every kill drops a gem, and each full bar is a level where you pick one of three upgrades (more shots, faster fire, orbit blades, a burning ring, a shockwave, lightning, a better weapon). Every generator sits in a cube that slams shut and throws a wave when you walk in, and a prime (or a power of one) among the three numbers on its door means a trap. Chests hum before you can see them — stand still beside one to open it. Smash a generator to shut its room down, or take the always-open stairs and its word and horde follow you to the next floor.
